Koen Schoolmeesters

‘I’m strongly convinced that ‘moving better, heals’.

‘That’s why my clinic in Belgium is named “Move To heal” (www.movetoheal.be).

This conviction is based upon my clinical experience, both as a physiotherapist and manual therapist but this has been tremendously influenced by the evidence based and structured vision of Kinetic Control; it’s not only my professional vision but also my life vision.’

Koen joined Kinetic Control in 2002 and has trained to become a Kinetic Control Accredited Tutor. Since 2006 he has been teaching Kinetic Control courses in both Holland and Belgium.

Koen is a musculoskeletal physiotherapist based in Gelrode, Belgium, completing his Masters degree in 1990 at the University of Leuven and continuing postgraduate education in Sports Physiotherapy. Since then he has consolidated and expanded his knowledge with an extensive program of musculoskeletal rehabilitation courses.  Additionally, he has also completed his manipulative therapy studies at SOMT in the Netherlands.

In 1991, Koen established his clinic in Gelrode called ‘Move To Heal’(www.movetoheal.be). In Koen’s opinion, musculoskeletal complaints and symptoms are often caused by movement dysfunction. The keystone to successful rehabilitation is to make a patient conscious of their movement dysfunction and for them to take ownership in learning how to correct their own individual movement patterns’. In 2004, Koen also started teaching part time as a practical assistant for the faculty of Physiotherapy FaBeR in Leuven.

As a passionate cyclist he experiences and enjoys the overall benefits of moving.
